I tend to be a bit narcissistic but in a weird way it's therapy for me. Understanding myself and being able to sit with myself and analyze has helped me to gain a greater clarity and relatability to people. I think a lot of people would agree that Tricking is beneficial for them but getting better at a sport doesn't automatically mean that we are necessarily good people. As a fitness exercise there is no doubt that Tricking is one of the greatest tests for athletes, but socially the sport could veer off in the wrong direction - a direction that I had been headed in, but as an adult and one that is educated it's far easier for me to make more informed and responsible decisions, and so naturally moving away from the sport actually became a healthy decision for me, and for people who can't say "no" to the peer pressure or maybe are being extorted, leaving the community and finding your own way might be the best decision you'll ever make. Hi my name is David Milner and I advocate for the continued education and awareness of safe and healthy sports development. ( I also kinda combat the forces of evil using Investigative Journalism. )When I was growing up I didn't have any sense of awareness until I was able to contrast my experiences and learn by seeing how others develop in life. I didn't come from high social status family in Canada, and infact one of my parents was a refugee and the other wasn't always there for me growing up. I experienced life as an only child and moved around a lot when I was a kid but found a few things that kept me positive along the way ( this was before the internet became a thing ). I hadn't been made aware of what the world has to offer, because I didn't have much preparation or guidance - but I did have Japanese media to keep me and my friends busy. I'd say that activities like card collecting, video games and playing sports like basketball with my friends for the most part kept us out of trouble, and focused on something that was relatively family friendly. When you grow up with only one parent, and that parent is busy with work and being a provider, you kind of just have to find ways to keep entertained and productive, and I didn't understand why family difficulties could exist - it wouldn't be until I got older that I realized that the world is actually a pretty corrupt place, and that our parents do their best to shield us and keep us relatively ignorant and safe from all the known forces that might otherwise seek to harm us.In highschool I started to fall off, and didn't feel a sense of self confidence or even have a purpose. I didn't have the ability to pay attention to the classes in school, because I just didn't have an interest, this was also when puberty was starting to affect my motivations, and I ended up not going to school and mostly hanging out with friends at internet cafes during the day. I'm grateful that here in Canada we have something called an "alternative" school system, which allowed for students who were starting to fall behind to go to a smaller environment that sought to discover the hidden strengths of students and attempt to cater to alternative topics. For some people wouldn't fit into regular school programs because of their developing identities clashing with what is socially acceptable at the times, for example, I went to school with people needed a safe place to be open about their homosexuality, bisexuality, or even elements of trans-gender identity. Personally, I am a very straight male, and that my place in the alternative school system was more focused on simply feeling comfortable to go to school and get my credits ( which eventually I caught up and did ) taking a more enthusiastic interest in philosophy and art programs, and physical education. ( I did very poorly at math and other more objective-minded topics initially ). It was in highschool that I did discover Tricking though, and it became the main thing about me. I finally found something that I was naturally inlove with, and looking back, in such a short period of time, became one of the best in Canada at. From watching videos in 2005 or 2006, starting with parkour, going to Team Ryouko's Xtreme Skills program, then going to Open Gyms where I had the freedom to go at my own pace, by about 2009 I was definitively the best in Toronto history up until that point, and basically one of if not the top force in Canada ( having achieved a benchmark known as Sir [Mr.David Milner, culturally ].. landing double Atwist, double Btwist and double Cork ). It was nice going to school feeling the afterglow of a Tricking session the night before, and kind of boosted my confidence. I also got a girlfriend at one point, and started to figure out my identity. I'd say that as time goes on my identity becomes a refinement of the things I know to be what are right and good for me, and that the experiences that I have, good and bad, help me to form my direction. I'm absolutely not a perfect person, I did a lot of debating with myself and with others in my youth. It was a healthy practice ( if I don't swear or use curse words) in figuring out things intensely. We all have experienced some spectrum in terms of right & wrong with experiences and I think for the most part we also reflect on them and we use it to make better choices. Tricking was a choice that I definitely continued to invest in, and eventually I felt encouraged to eat healthier, to go to the gym to strength train, and get a stable job ( in Security and Life Safety ) to support my hobby and interests of video games, travelling & Tricking. As a person who was fortunate enough to be caught by Canada, and saved in a way, I have been able to use the foundation of our social system to take what would otherwise be a bad situation, and was oriented in one that has so far been so much more positive than if I did not have Canada's safeguards and protections. As I got older and began to study society, I learned how some of the more cold and calculated minds work - and there are people who not only want to catch people when they fall, but might even encourage their fall from grace, and the exploitation of those people once they have them - I'm talking about Organized Crime Groups and how they are not just myths or legend, that they are a form of dark-matter, a kind of invisible yet influential presence in society, and that even people who might take on the public face of being some kind of business owner could also serve a dual-function of facilitating organized crime under the cover of their public persona. I'd say I was naive and trusting growing up, because I kind of accepted things at face value. We see malicious intent rear it's ugly head not just when we ourselves begin to lose and become desperate, but we sometimes see others when their true colours emerge - and one of the ways to identify people is based on their patterns of activity. It's not really fair to judge someone for a mistake that they've made, because everyone is bound to make a mistake in their life. People also feel bad, and correct their behaviour, we see people grow - but there are people who benefit too much from the tactics that society deems to be criminal, which is why it becomes their way of life. Organized Crime Groups are often punished greatly in society because it's not usually just one person doing something illegal once .. it's usually a group of people who plan and systematically intend to continue to do wrong, and the environment and actions necessary to keep what they are doing a secret also tend to be criminal in it of themselves - it spreads and affects many people, compared to isolated incidents, and because it's rewarded, the prospects of it continuing are also quite high. I kind of see Tricking as a 25 year old, because our sport is so young, and because it has been evolving in different directions. What is the state of our industry?I can talk most accurately about Canada. For people who have been following along, I built legitimacy by being a direct participant seeing it's growth over the last 20 years, and it's decline. There have been moments of glory, and there have been schemes. I've had to separate myself from the community and industry primarily because the sport has gone in a direction that is not appropriate for society. The movement itself is not an issue - but the surrounding environment, lack of regulation, mafia-like control that the US Tricking League has over our Canadian athletes and by extension, our events, has made the sport tilted towards people who lack the ability to ensure neutrality, integrity and fairness. Imagine going to a school program where you have to be willing to commit crimes in order to further yourself? Thats a bit like where Tricking is at. Merit isn't rewarded as much as social-bias and the arbitrary decision making of influencers or "professional coaches" who are exercising the political agenda of their undisclosed foreign sponsors. Athetes are not setup to achieve success fairly - they're encouraged to fight off anyone that threatens Kojos Trick Lab or America's hold over our "influencers". I think I might be one of the only Canadians that openly discusses this reality and advocates for a truly Canadian sport, but it's difficult given the power-differentials as well as retaliations that you'll experience if you go against the agenda. I look back and actually see rejecting the sport as my greatest test that proved that I am a true and loyal Canadian, and that my dedication to the sport is based on preserving Canadian History. Now, I do for others what Canada did for me, which is to try to encourage that as athletes continue to fall into a life of crime, that they can make the informed decisions and get out before it's too late, or even begin to build semblances of orderly and legitimate safe havens for the sport - registering legitimate business, administering those businesses with clarity and integrity, lawfully, and working to establish neutral competitions that are inclusive and balanced. There are plenty of sports that are established and run properly. Why can't Tricking? It's hard when it's overrun by corruption. You just have to be the change you want to see. Technically, you don't need to participate with other people to be a Tricker. You just have to go out and train, but when it comes to businesses, there are a few academies that I think are positive examples, and a few Trickers that I think are good rolemodels. I wouldn't consider myself to be one, because my upbringing and environment didn't really give me the best start, but I can take everything I have and know and push myself in that direction - I am proud to say that for many years I have been going my own way, and rejecting a life of crime. To this day, I still have and give a lot of love to my inspirations, which is largely art & artists that comes from Japan.As I got older, I learned that gratitude and honour are certainly some of the best traits to have, and I do my best to give my thanks.I'm one of the forces that has been thwarting the efforts of these american-sponsored gangsters, as I mentioned before, like my childhood hero ( Trainer Red, from Pokemon would Team Rocket ). My encouragement is to learn to separate. Recognize what a situation is with education and evidence, and find an appropriate way to leave a bad situation. It's not like Trickers are inherently bad people, I think a lot are mostly ignorant actually, it's really the business owners, professional coaches and influencers that need to be the most responsible, and I do think parents should be far more involved with the development of communities. 

It goes without saying that males & females serve different biological roles in the animal kingdom, and that within Tricking there is no exception - though depending on the lens by which we perceive the sport, the ability to recognize & identify who people are helps us to make informed decisions about how we can proceed forward safely.There are already pre-determined patterns of human migration and the individuals that set these tones have been in the sport for a very long time, and have been layering, insolating and accumulating sources of power to ensure that not just their hold over the sport remains in tact, but also for their own survivability. As one of those older beings who has come to understand the industry, now from a greater distance, and thus with greater clarity, the particular contribution I make to the sport is one of understanding and the intention of encouraging self awareness to help lead people away from danger. Personally, I never had the best guidance growing up, and so I stumbled into the sport without as much education as I have now, and admittedly I have even made my own fair share of mistakes as well - but the forces I am up against are a commercially motivated group that seeks to exercise control, in many cases coercive control over athletes that do not even know their own legal rights nor have the education to identify the tactics or know subtle laws that are less known or ways to fight back - ( you can fight back ).Hi my name is David Milner and my goal is to turn my life experiences into a model that can maybe, possibly, even just a little bit.. help the next generation out to avoid going in the wrong direction. As I said I never had a guardian, and though imperfect as I may be, I do this because it is what I wish I had when I was a kid. Here is journalism with advocacy to help improve the lives of Trickers everywhere ~ I am a human being just like every body else, so it goes without saying that I can relate to all kinds of people, and I can understand others because we all kind of share the same soul to some degree, though who we become depends on what we feed into. Some of us build in one direction. Generally speaking though, we get an impression as to who people are by how they present themselves outwardly - and of course we manage our image in order to be perceived the way we want to be perceived. Though we can't always trust people or identify people based on appearances - we kind of have to take a deeper dive, and gain a better understanding by recognizing things called "patterns of behaviour". Time helps to reveal people and their intentions based on their patterns. People come into the sport for various reasons, not always overtly known. Tricking is highly attractive, but also a potentially useful skill to have. I know personally when I found tricking it was because I fell inlove - and the vast majority of my career has been spent on a personal journey exploring that love. I have interacted with other people, but I always felt like I was in my best place when I would find my own park to train at, or go to open gym on a day and a time where I knew it would be kind of empty, and go to do what I would visualize in my mind. I really just wanted to train and improve and get some of those memories on camera. Kind of wanted to be like my heroes and just do cool stuff. I would say I was an athlete - and still to this day, I am a Tricker at heart. Other people recognize that Tricking is a skill that helps people to make their way into the entertainment industry - live shows, stunts, battles. Kind of like how there had been circus performers that would entertain a king back in the day. Trickers are also expanding the field of being paid to provide services related to education, and guiding athletes towards self improvement and helping mold them into champion athletes. Running a gym can also be a high reward business as well. When people get into the sport, when they find a community they might already have the desire to find a stunt crew, and so might go to a gym that has a strong presence of people who are connected to the industry. They spend their time integrating, adapting the lingo, customs and general ideology and political viewpoints that show that they are similar and deserve to be accepted. Others seek community to simply train with people who are like-minded, and others have business ideas and views that they believe will benefit the industry.But there are also another category of individual, one aimed at females ( sorry females ) and a term was coined by a tricker I knew growing up named Benjamin Atkins who goes by the name "Towels", who came up with the term ( and brace yourself as there is an inappropriate term ) this term is TGS " Tricker Groupie Slut " - an admittedly rude term, but it was an observation made as a teenager that he used to describe how some females would come into this predominately male sport ... just to be physically "close" and "available" to these athletes. You could maybe refer to them as fans of the sport, but groupies typically harness their physical attractiveness in order to establish physical relationships and so seek to be within proximity.( As a side note: I am merely pointing out that the term exists, not a criticism on Benjamin Atkins at all, as it was created when he was a teenager, and did point out a very real phenomena in various spaces such as groupies that follow bands around, or ones that hang out near artists or athletes. Benjamin has made numerous contributions to the sport via video journalism detailing some of the greatest lands in history [thank you, Ben !]) As I learned more about the world, I see how society works in terms of pipelines, and why laws have been designed to ensure that people don't just get pipelined into the clutches of business owners who run off-the-books businesses that seek to exploit labour or the anatomy of females for sexual purposes - those are what trafficking laws are designed for and for people who have been paying attention to the news lately, Jeffrey Epstein is a famous modern day example of someone who ran one for politicians and big business heads mainly in the United States. Actually, it fed from international models as well as orphanages, and the women were brought to his private island for the purposes of exploitation.Is it really inconceivable that Tricking could be affected by corruption? Particularly by people who have a mindset that develops systemic, commercially driven, concealed business practices that operates to scout & recruit athletes ( and also females ) for the purposes of making use of what happens to be available to them in their local environments? In Tricking, Internet groups ( possibly anonymous ones ) & in particular the "open gym" programs are two places where individuals that come into the sport have the potential to be pipelined and trafficked without even knowing that they are being influenced into a scheme, often because the way artists market the situation could be misleading, or omit important details. Some athletes who use that lingo might see females hanging around the community and aren't driven to improve themselves, or even make it in the industry. It's entirely possible that people who use the term TGS might say to themselves or their friends " there's a TGS over there " and because many Trickers who go to open gym do so engaging in the sport as a personal hobby, it's not out of the realm of the ordinary that people will strike up relationships, or at least attempt to. I've previously written in great length why here in Canada it is a logical conclusion to create a sports governing body, with the appropriate roles for employees who develop proper business models and systems who deal with athletes for legitimate purposes. Clear visibility in terms of a business structure, with individuals that have written duties and responsibilities, and paperwork to confirm and validate these facts. Mechanisms and channels for reporting - and being free to complain without being threatened to be blacklisted from events or even sued for simply defending oneself or reporting wrong doing - all things that safe and healthy companies do in many parts of the world - but something Tricking greatly lacks.Having proper governance could mean that people who are well educated on these subjects, including managing conflicts of interests, could intervene and assist in ensuring that all relationships are going to be fair and appropriate for the environment - we currently do not have guardians that intervene, and as a 35 year old, I highly doubt that your average teenager or young adult will know about complex laws or laws that require proper research. Proper intervention could not only deter wrongdoing - but there are also people who may even intend for wrongdoing to occur - because once that happens, anything damaging could be used as leverage to extort and therefor control people - we do live in that kind of world after all, and in a healthy community with professionals, harmful situations are prevented with pro-activity and good faith. Because I have been a solo player for the vast majority of my career, I am essentially free to evaluate free of bias. I don't have to accept or be pressured into believing anything that Tricking organizations might want me to believe in terms of adopting whatever views or narratives they might wish to impose on me, or any system they might want me to participate in. Since I took time to study these subjects, which by the way are never talked about ( at least publicly ) I'm exploring a niche aspect of the sport but it is important. Tricking is an underground, newly establishing sport, and with that comes growing pains. There is room for mistakes, I think, because it's natural, but we should also seek to repair those mistakes once we realize we've made them - it's not an excuse to keep going and cover it up, it's better to work in the right direction - that's what good intentioned people do in society. Tricking exists in a grey area, and grey areas are particularly dangerous due to ambiguity - people can be intentionally opaque about who they are and what their intentions are, but my best recommendation is for people to establish themselves clearly, properly. If you are an athlete, present yourself as one. If you are a professional, run your business properly & if your goal is to come into the sport just to establish personal and intimate relationships, this is a much more difficult area to manage, because this aspect of life can create something called a conflict of interest, and industries that deal with these topics are often highly regulated or might not even be legal to begin with, depending on the country.Most people wouldn't go to karate class to find a partner, but it is understandable that for some people, they might not see any other possibility than finding a partner that does karate, and that isn't something we can really stop - some people will come into the sport with those fixed intentions, but it's an entirely different industry if the purpose is to make a financial gain or it could outright be illegal to use deception in order to influence individuals to engage in sexual activities - business owners who intend to run their establishments properly typically have rules that ensure that only lawful conduct takes place in the area that they have liability over. If it's known that there are people that have motivations of this nature, it's an obligation to intervene and correct the situation.Since the "Open Gym Program" is often where a lot Tricking takes place, it is also where a lot of grey area activity in Tricking takes place, it is the highest risk environment for exploitation to occur. That is something I now understand much better. Throw power differentials on top of that, and people that come into the sport who are easily submissive, trying to make it into the industry, who trust "professional coaches" are the most at-risk for falling for a trafficking scheme. That is why business owners in particular need to be the most careful about being in a position of trust, especially if you advertise yourself as a professional coach, and have "followers" that trust you. Trickers are more international than ever before, and 2 or even 5 seemingly unrelated competitions or tricking brands, could actually be linked by a common friendship group that may or may not make their existence known publicly or even legally. We do live in a world where people think in terms of systemic and widespread control over people, and use different tactics to funnel, coerce and deceive people into that life - people hide things for a reason, and as I mentioned, image is carefully crafted in society. Business owners have an obligation to society, but also to parents and to their athletes and customers who trust that they are not being mislead about the direction they are going in, and when we recognize that people come into the sport for the wrong reasons, we have to moderate their behaviour and at least protect everything we do have control over. Artists have the capacity to market and use visuals to impress, but it could also be a form of distraction and to omit key facts and details about events. It's easy to fall inlove, just like I did, but the most important part is integrity and self awareness. It helps to ensure that parents are involved and know what their children are doing, but that trafficking can affect anyone of any age. It's one thing to establish a genuine boyfriend/girlfriend relationship - these things are bound to happen naturally, but it's another if women are being scouted and deceived into a romance scam or worse - because those things are bound to happen as well, and we just need to be ontop of it, and to mitigate as much harm as possible. Know your true friends, but also who the real enemy is,Thank youChampion DavidCanada

Given the landscape of the sport globally exists by concealing the reality of how business administration is handled, as we continue to grow and expand the reach of the sport, gain new athletes and form businesses, it is necessary to ensure that we comply with society and it's requirements in order to facilitate the sport in a fair manner, and neutralize conflicts of interest and areas for cheating as best we can - with education, awareness and integrity. Hello my name is David Milner and I prefer diplomatic discussions and negotiations to resolve our issues and so conduct investigative journalism in an effort to do my part in combatting bad acting, while contributing to the development of the sport in a way that facilitates self improvement and right action.Cooperation can only be achieved if we have individuals who are responsible for the development of the sport, our leadership & business owners be willing to look at the reality of the situation and rather than concealment, instead recognize the state the sport is in and work with all parties to clarify and remedy the growing problems that are proliferating as a result of negligence, poor management and/or intentional corruption. For those who have kept up with the history that I have been compiling over the last year, I've witnessed how a structure of the sport began to develop in 2010, which grew and has continued to expand for the last 16 years, resulting in the development of an international entity that support several seemingly separate competitions that are connected by athletes that have been expanding their reach and encouraging businesses to develop and partner with them informally - the formation of the original Tricking Tour which centered around Team Invincible, had a re-invigoration effort by many of the original founding event organizers and communities in 2018, but instead was being developed to support the careers of Kojos Trick Lab & it's affiliates - athletes who were treated as special guests along these tours were considered "Pro" Trickers within the culture of our sport at the time, and some might still consider entering into this system as a form of milestone in the industry.Professional Trickers are expected to conduct themselves with high standards as role models and in compliance with business requirements - what they do outside of the workplace environment with other athletes can also matter, especially if it directly conflicts with their duties and can have an impact on their work. There is a difference between Professional Trickers and people who treat the sport as a hobby - this article is focused on those that intend to claim to be professional coaches, or contest hosts.There isn't any issue with developing the sport and forming business relationships & sharing resources, working together to make this thing happen, the issue has to do with how it is being done, and if it meets business related rules, regulations and legal requirements that exist in our ever interconnecting countries where Tricking is being developed. As a Canadian Tricker who is from the world of tricking, I was brought up as a teenager and began to witness these events take place, sometimes closely and other times simply by keeping up with social media. At the time I did not have the required education to comprehend the situation and it's development and so could not red flag the development with concern - at the time I was largely a participant focusing on the physical performance of Tricking and making samplers, and it wasn't until around 2014 that I became a business owner in the form of hosting the Toronto Gathering. By 2018, the Tricking Tour had begun to establish itself formally into Canada with it's roots dating back to 2010, through a proxy company called Toronto Tricking, owned by the former members of my team which used to be called Team Impulse would partly conceal it. Kojos Trick Lab affiliates began to use developing communities, such as our own, as a place where resources could be extracted using their affiliates and Kojos Trick Lab event organizers, who would resource share and send athletes along these connected communities formed "roads" which became a widespread concept not just here in Canada into the USA, but began to affect Europe - by 2022, with the development brought on by the next generation that built upon this touring system, again, through proxy companies such as "Kerbit Collective Cult", the US Tour had evolved into the US Tricking League, and began to root itself into Japan, and is now reaching South Korea and other parts of Asia, and is still developing to this day - though through immense omission of what is really happening, and who is responsible.There isn't anything inherently wrong with developing a business, but the primary area that I have been covering is Sports Corruption. This understanding became apparent to me as Tricking Battle Events became a more prominent and an accessible concept in the sport, and that many developing communities began to convert their local gatherings into events that supported competitions. As events grew one sided, and that large friendship groups would prioritize sharing opportunities amongst themselves, rather than having a merit based system, with judging being largely subjective, and advertising not even closely indicating the reality of the situation corruption became far easier to detect with a background and education in seeing how things develop over time. There are teams, there are teams that wish to represent their countries, and there are factions and competitive rivalries, and all this is being commercialized - but that the business is being built on a faulty foundation - the cracks of which are being covered up, and the prospect of even addressing these issues are being met with resistance. Mismanagement evolves into Organized Crime when the manner in which business is conducted goes from accidental mistakes, that can be rectified, to intentionally concealing, denying, and obstructing those mistakes, and threatening anyone who dare speak out against wrongdoing taking place in the administration of the sport.  This isn't an issue that only takes place in one country, just about every country in the world has laws that are similar in wording that specifically state what is unlawful business conduct - and the manner in which businesses are run in Tricking doesn't even cover the tax implications and international nature of these business transactions that require accurate book keeping and reporting requirements. As a competitive athlete, I set off to various competitions administered by different organizations over my career and learned more about the world each time. I understand the desire to win, and to want to rule the world as any other boy or girl might who is focused on self improvement and the aspiration to be #1 in some way - but the manner by which we achieve our goals is important. Our sport already has an infrastructure, and the business relationships and ever expanding control over communities, such as by organizations like Kojos Trick Lab, the apparency of which is largely omitted from contests, already exists and simply needs to be converted into a position of clarity and acceptance of responsibility.Understanding where we are with the sport and comparing it with where we need to be, international relationships, resource sharing, business activity, athlete allegiances, rules & guidelines, reporting mechanisms, instead of concealing how this activity is done, and who is responsible, and how decisions are made, it should be far more transparent, inclusive and discoverable - this isn't an opinion by the way, this is a societal requirement of which laws have built and been around for centuries specifically to maintain order, keeping people on the right side of society where safety and fair competition can exist, without factions or rebel groups forming that commit acts that are harmful, deceitful and anti-social in nature. We don't all have to like each other, or even accept each other's philosophies, but so long as we share the planet together, there are neutral, non-negotiable requirements that we all have to society. It isn't a sports regulation vulnerability - if you exist in a country as a citizen, you have legal obligations, and to intentionally avoid these could mean that your freedoms in society can be limited or completely stripped away. So long as we share the planet and exist in the same space, there is an expectation of conduct that keeps life pleasant, safe, cooperative and well maintained consistently - this is under threat if athletes do not have proper governance. Here in Canada, we require business entities that accurately reflect the structure of it's employees and the activities it facilitates, commonly a National Sports Organization is developed to handle National Level Competition & Team Selection to officially represent Canada.The organizations that are responsible for the development of the sport do exist, even if they haven't established themselves legally, and the structure and hierarchy of these organizations is known as well, even if employees are not officially registered or contracts, or sponsorships are formed. Even if those responsible attempt to delegate responsibility and layer the situation with proxy entities. There isn't any reason not to follow the rules of society, because those rules exist for very logical and fair minded reasons - the only advantage to ignoring them is to develop an unfair advantage, which we all have an obligation to recognize and fix - especially in Sports with contests. There are already systems in place that allow for people to come forward and simply report their business activities and be granted relief for their past activities if they are willing to work with the authorities and regulators, showing mitigation and a willingness to fix issues rather than contribute to the perpetuation and concealment of them, and individuals who are responsible for guiding and influencing athletes to commit acts that go against the rules of society are likely to face harsher penalties as organized and group coordinated wrong doing is typically a more dangerous threat to society. It's ultimately your decision if you want to do the right thing, or continue to cover up the problems that are evidenced to exist and continue to amplify as time goes on - simply painting a hull will not fix a sinking ship - we have to isolate and patch the holes, and scoop out the water that has built up. Every business owner has an obligation in society, and coming from an early version of the sport, I have sympathy for how teenagers and young adults building something new could make mistakes and be unaware of the legal realities of the world. However, we are now old enough, educated and experienced and thus, in a position of increased responsibility, and we have to exercise responsibility with good faith. At this time, I have already received retaliation and attempts to intimidate me into silence. There are criminal actions that have been done against me, by groups that support the concealment and fortify the ownership of events in Canada on behalf of foreign entities whose presence isn't even made visible here officially. Collectivist supporting groups who are continuing to develop the sport in this way. I am not afraid of these individuals, and I am ultra confident in the position I've taken, and I believe it is in all our best interests to consider the reality, to understand the situations we are in, and to do our duty to society and to the truth of the sport, by working towards a positive end goal, which sees the sport legitimately recognized and where athletes and business owners work in concert to ensure safety and integrity, at all levels - beginner contests, athletes with talent being scouted properly and sent through pipelines up towards professional leagues, where athlete conduct and financial management is done durably and with proper etiquette and where forms of cheating are caught, prevented and discouraged. It is genuinely mafia-like in how these groups are affecting legitimate businesses and affecting fair competitive practices in our society.Also, communication to the individuals who are responsible for facilitating international business activity that supports the underground touring and recruiting systems have relinquished their position here in Canada, and relegated themselves and their activities completely from the public domain. The Kerbit Collective Cult no longer promotes themselves and have been cleaning their image and indications of their past activities, while maintaining their business on a more private and discrete level. At the very least, it's a step in the right direction not to obviously funnel people into a situation that is improperly managed, and using anonymity as a cover while extorting everyone who is part of the group into silence. I cannot control what others do, but I can attempt to mitigate by educating, discouraging and raising awareness about what is happening and why it is wrong. I also feel it is my duty to thwart the efforts of people if I have the means to do so simply through dialogue alone. If this situation continues to build, and if witnesses and participants are continued to be extorted into silence, these are aggravating factors that will only make things worse in the long term, by every country's system of control over it's population and agencies responsible for enforcement, and so I would encourage everyone to swallow their pride, and do the right thing. The first step is by learning to speak the truth and give proper credit where it's due, but also proper blame and not to shift these things because our ego or image wants to maintain some semblance of perfection, but acceptance of reality for what it is, and instead of fighting it, respecting those results - so long as things are done in good faith.Athletes require a code of conduct in their day to day routine but also that athletes that represent legitimate organizations cannot be in environments or participate in conduct that would violate those codes of conduct - we need athletes to honour their obligations to being professionals if they want to be paid as professional athletes. It sets a really bad example if athletes who regularly engage and promote unlawful behaviour are being championed by social media, especially if that social media is sponsored by league owners or tricking brands.Often, such as in the case in Japan, these are legal and contractual requirements, and athletes could lose a lot of opportunities if they breach and violate the terms with civil or criminal penalties as a consequence. Shouldn't we be doing what we can to keep athletes on good behaviour?This is what I can offer to the world of tricking.. not covering up the mistakes, but by being real about them. Many business owners maintain a distance from me as a result of my work in speaking about real societal issues in Tricking - I understand that this is a difficult topic, and it has and will continue to spark backlash, but it is also a necessary discomfort, much like pouring alcohol on a wound. I already know that when I release articles like these, that they make their way either directly or through the grapevine to my intended audience, and of course all my work is made publicly available for all to gain knowledge. I am going to continue to live in a manner that is consistent with my philosophical views on what is a healthier form of development for the sport, and I will continue to rebuke individuals responsible if they continue to push others into corruption. I am incapable of swaying too far from my view on these matters, I am open to discussions and making slight compromises in the way I see things, but based on my level of education, I am relatively fixed in terms of the general direction that I know I have to go in, regardless of continuation of any threats that have already been made against me which seem to have been intended of throwing me off course. Some people thrive in chaos - where people are confused, mislead, unsure of themselves, and might even be in a state of denial.When people are not afraid to speak the truth, the villains become less powerful and goodness takes it's victory.Hello my name is David Milner and I try to clear the fog so to speak, dispelling the tactics that organized groups use to cause harm in non-violent yet highly damaging ways. I don't know who coined the term, but the person who became self-conscious and realized and honed in on this concept created a cure-all in determining whether you should or should not proceed with a relationship with a person or group. History is a powerful ally. When we are able to ground ourselves to object facts, we can gain a sense of clarity and direction, and orient ourselves with a sense of alignment. There are some people who will never acknowledge themselves, or facts that exist in the outside world - this is a defence mechanism people use in order to maintain their sense of identity and perhaps even life-philosophy. It can be incredibly challenging to present information that thwarts world-views and goes against the narrative, and it can even be dangerous to be the type of person that does not conform - but if my study into humanitarianism has taught me anything, it is that a healthy society is one that encourages the freedom of thought, and that by opposing what we know to be wrong and evil, should be met with reward, not with punishment. Only tyrannical leadership or influencers punish you for thinking outside of the narrative they craft, and only the strong willingly allow others to be free to make their own choices and to think for themselves. If two people are on the same side in terms of their values, they will naturally align and be headed in the same direction anyways - because like-attracts-like. Integrity is one of the most important qualities that athletes, particularly ones that evolve into the role of being judges, educators or historical platform holders can have in this sport. We can't just do something, pretend it never happened, re-write history to cover it up, and repeat that process as a method of business model. That simply does not work, and is kind of the exact opposite of what a Hall of Fame represents. Glory is eternally true, but we live in a world where people will want to mask that glory. It takes a lot of bigness to give credit to a rival athlete or organization. It's been necessary to make sure that the standards that educators hold for athletes is one of goodsportsmanship - being able to shake hands or give props, and recognizing that those who are comparable to us could out-perform us in some way. It would be small to act as though no one else has ever won other than ourselves or the members of our team. Gaslighting is a tactic people use in order to re-write history, and place people in a state of Confusion. Its used by people who do not want to feel the sting of a loss, by admitting that perhaps .. they could be in the wrong - it's why people lie. People lie in order to cover up weakness and vulnerability, something that those of us that have huge egos rarely might ever admit. Everyone has lied at some point in their lives, if it's a gentle lie, or a severe one - you will never meet a perfect human being, but growing up has meant alignment. Living life with the truth in mind, and speaking the truth, and working towards the truth gives a different kind of high. Upholding accomplishments, even ones held by my competitors, has humbled, and yet emboldened me. When people live a life where the activities they engage in are ones that they would prefer remain anonymous, or in a secretive environment, it becomes an anti-social force in society, especially when it involves finances or anything related to sports competitions. We can't have athletes being rewarded for participating in anti-social behaviour - and if athletes want to promote those qualities, highly reputable governing institutions that uphold truth and fairness would likely issue suspensions, bans or sanctions on athletes that do intend to warp the fabric of good sportsmanship.There is a certain honour and nobility that comes from playing by the rules - nothing in life matters if history will just be re-written afterward. No claim or accomplishment matter if one day it exists, and the next someone else claims it. There needs to be people who advocate and uphold the truth. That pillar becomes the story of Tricking itself.Anyone who truly loved the sport, regardless of affiliation or allegiances, should never betray the sport, just because they can. There might be gullible, naive or vulnerable athletes that might mindlessly take mis-direction from persons with malicious intent, but those groups of people end up becoming unruly and are typically deemed delinquents in society. It's better to work to uphold the social order - which means being honest and true. 

because large numbers of people .. can be wrong, and sometimes, one person who lives the truth can have a powerful existence & impact historyHi my name is David Milner & I would rather die for my country than sell it out ! The safest play on the board is often to follow the herd. "Joining the bandwagon" and simply adopting the qualities and characteristics and everyone who identifies as a particular sub-group who live their sub-culture .. becoming a clone and fitting in. It's the safe path, but is it true to who you are?I suppose in some cases, it's actually freeing to be your true self and find people who are the same as you. For people who come out of the closet and live their truth, even if society hates them, are arguably the happiest people - because they get to live free. You'll realize eventually that acting and pretending can be tiring, and faking relationships or attitude that isn't true to who you are is draining. You wont feel like you're in the right place in life, and you'll want to work to be in an environment where you do get to be your true self. I think it was 2025 that the majority of Trickers in the USA attempted to rename the sport of Tricking into something called " Spinjutsu ". I haven't really been paying too much attention, but I noticed comments about it here n there, even a few public figures taking on stances. I grew up with Tricking, and I owe my gratitude to this word because it's the only truth I've ever known. Technically, Tricking was called XMA ( eXtreme Martial Arts ) before it developed it's own identity .. but over the past 20 years, Tricking & it's global contributors separated the sport from any other and established a unique artform that truly does have it's own visual and historical roots - Tricking is officially it's own individual sport. To me attempting to rename it is an abuse of power - it's what happens when people use numbers to their advantage, trying to overwhelm a situation by using collectivist movements and mob mentality to kind of force people into a minority role, which often has people who fear safety joining whichever side has a majority. Most people don't want to be the odd one out, and so will leave and become Spinjutsu-users rather than Trickers if it means staying socially safe. But 1 is an odd number, and it's a powerful number at that - a King is a #1 I use the slogan "Loyalty to Truth is Royal" because to me it's how I earned Legitimacy. I was genuinely around to see Team Ryouko, Joe Eigo and Xen Dynasty; I genuinely went to Loopkicks, to Denmark & was there to help form NTBS. I saw the formation of Team Invincible at my home gym at Gym Elites in 2010. I was there at the original TBJxWOT. My genuine truly lived experiences, which are unlike any Canadian, are what make me special - yes, people may write down my list of accomplishments and seek to replicate my life ( cloning ) but I am not chasing or trying to be anyone .. other than me. I'm not trying to be like you, but there are some of you, trying to be like me. That's when you know you're number 1. You can simply live your truth, and be yourself.As an artist I find that my inspirations are from Japanese culture - it's what I grew up with, and that is something that I reference a lot in my art style. It comes from a place of honour. You can never be royalty if you're constantly shifting truths - you lose legitimacy that way. Empty words, empty promises, falseness, fakeness, cloning - all that does it tell me that someone is desperate. It's not about marketing. It's about lifestyle. 

yo yo yo ! David Milner here .. doin what I do ! I took my knowledge in Security & Life Safety and applied it to Tricking in some ways .. became an investigative journalist and reporting on matters that concern the public ! Am I a philosopher too..?! Maybe a little bit. I'd like to think that I just allow myself to experience and then reflect and try to understand life, and compare my conscience, self realization and true feelings about the world to interact with this thing called society, which seems to be a place where all manner of social engineering and image and ideological controls are taking place at once. It's not possible to make everyone happy, and to offend no one. I don't identify as a person who uses a religious construct to define my life and direction .. I am more of a modern day free thinking individual, and I think a lot of us in the modern day test the boundaries and evolve and grow in different ways that are different from other people. I don't have a name for the type of person that I am, other than just a man.My experience with Tricking was finding and falling inlove with this sport on youtube. I admired heroes and I felt inspired to go to the park across the street and jump off the bench and roll when I hit the ground or try to learn bkick or tornado kick .. eventually finding other trickers and learning backflip, and so on and so forth. I became a Tricker. Later on as I wanted to improve as a Tricker I had to focus on health. I developed health issues and had to learn about my body, and studied TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine ) focusing on food as a cure rather than pills, and lifestyle changes which lead me to a plant based diet - but with that comes recognition that animal welfare is a widely concealed topic, and that animal cruelty exists and so I developed additional reinforcement that what we eat is spiritual and not just for our physical sustenance. Having gratitude and being ethical. I began to reject modern society which could be ignorant to these topics. Sometimes you deviate away from what everyone else is doing and start to think for yourself, and as you gain an education, particularly about topics that are intentionally concealed from society, you might realize that you may not want to return to ignorant - you have to make compromises in order to fit back in, but it's also difficult to give up what you know to be true.Throughout history, activists have always pushed against the system and it's lack of fairness - be it granting women their rights at a time when women had none, or advocating for certain racial or religious groups to be free from persecution or exploitation, which is common in collectivist societies that make up a large majority of shared direction and ways of thinking. At the end of the day, if we are all humans, and we just want to be happy and to love, why is it that so many divisions were legally enforced? There was a time in history, not too long ago, that you could be killed just for being a certain colour and attempting to form a relationship with someone who was not the same skin colour as you. This is insane by today's standards, no? Back then .. it was the norm. As a Tricker I fell inlove, I made samplers, I experimented and developed my own style, I specifically travelled to places I wanted to go to, I helped motivate and push a few other athletes, I pursued my own artistic vision, I competed, developed my own evaluation criteria as a judge and I've essentially graduated. I've learned a lot of things along the way, and Tricking is interesting in that it's still an unregulated sport. We didn't have a governing system that educated us on what it meant to be a professional coach, or how to ensure fairness and equality in judging, or anything of the sort. These are things that we had to essentially build from the ground up, which is why I have a lot of sympathy for essentially teenagers and young adults who likely made mistakes out of naivety while developing a new sport. I think it's expected to go in the wrong direction to some degree, when you exist in a world where the rules aren't clearly defined and there aren't guardians who protect you from deviating. As I got older though, and as I took up an interest in law and society and activism related to sports corruption, after a few years now I understand things a lot better - as history goes on society improves and collectively we agree that changes need to be made, and that things that were once deemed to be wrong could be understood to be not so wrong - and that things that people were doing that no one knew about, that people come to find out about, were wrongful in nature .. and so what does that teach us about society? In general, I think it's fair to say that in order to determine if something is wrong or right, we can't really be living in such a way where we hide who we are and what we're doing. In the context of Tricking, it's necessary for Trickers to identify themselves and to state who they are, the organization they play for, their intentions.. not just in public, but to truly live by that identity even in private, because by doing so...we can trust each other. When people come into the sport who have ulterior motives, we might be betrayed to find out that they are here to do things that we do not approve of, and that our trust could be taken advantage of, and it harms relationships when we find out that we have been deceived or betrayed. It is anti-social to live this way, and in a sport where people are competing for victory, some people use anti-social or cheating maneuvers, which necessitate removal. We reward athletes for playing by the rules, and we punish people who lie and cheat.Tricking is mostly hijacked by now by anti-social groups I'd say. Cheating is an easy way to win, which is why people do it. Some people slowly play by the rules, and get discouraged when they see people straight up cheat to take a victory. It's human nature to setup a comfortable system and rely on it in order to derive gains with little effort, even if it creates disharmony or deprives others of a rightful gain - people can develop a systematic nature to them, which is why laws heavily punish things like human trafficking or racketeering - which are system based crimes that are done over periods of time and affect many victims. Here in Canada the way our system in sports works is that a group needs to establish a non-profit organization to be approved by the ministry of sports to evolve into a sports governing body, which sets out criteria, rules and manages the sport with a higher level of professionalism, focus and integrity. People are clearly defined with roles and duties and there is a hierarchy and so the sport can clearly be established for everyone to clearly understand. My issue with the Kerbit Collective is that they take the exact opposite approach - the structure of their organization is intentionally masked from the view of the public, their existence may not even be known, and who is in charge can change depending on the situation. Financially, they work for the USA as a quiet extension of the US Tricking League operating without a true and accurate legal entity, and their rules are based on their need to survive and promote their political interests, relying on collectivism and nepotism, rather than merit, and their tactics are anti-social if you disagree with them. Instead of promoting a transparent and safe environment that proudly showcases athletes playing by the rules of the sport, you might be disappointed or even betrayed to find out that they intend to win in any way that they can, even if it amounts to criminal harassment or cheating. That is why on one hand there is a properly established organization which the Canadian government recommends, and on the other, one group seeks to make it's existence anonymous and difficult to track. People who want to do things properly and win the right way naturally want to live in the light of day, where as people who do things they aren't supposed to will hide it. We either become more transparent and open about who we are, or we get better at concealing who we are - what direction is the sport going in? Here in Canada, sadly most people I think are going in an anti-social direction. Part of it is the inclusion of adult themed industries being integrated into the Kerbit Collective's business model.I've learned about society and other industries - there are adult focused industries in society, and I think it's necessary that as we grow older and we move into different aspects of society, we have to create separation. I would say that my understanding compared to day 1 is far more mature, and I'm not trying to return to who I was when I first started off as a Tricker, and I'm also not trying to get involved in the Tricking industry as I did before - I think I'm happy with my role as a freelance investigative journalist. I feel like I did everything I set out to do, and I think I've captured my experiences in chronological order and keep those on youtube as history to look back on. I went through different phases over the 15 or so years that I was active, and I've now moved on, focusing on the real world and how Tricking fits in.I noticed how in some parts of the world society gets broken up. In some countries, entire regions are dedicated to specific industries. You can't really mix everything together .. sometimes things have to be separated and broken apart. Look at the red-light district for example. Pro-creation is a natural part of life. It's essential, and it's normal and natural, and it's often associated with a lot of positive experiences and feelings. Naturally, it's done between people who lhave positive emotions for each other, and there aren't factors such as money, force or deceit that drive the interaction. Under natural circumstances, it kind of just happens .. naturally. The world isn't that simple though, and where there are people who think in terms of systems and are driven by competition and finance, a topic such as pro-creation could become a product to be sold, and this industry is heavily regulated in society - which is why it's not really appropriate to mix it into an unregulated sport such as Tricking. Laws were created because people might no longer be viewed as people and could be farmed, like animals, and funneled and exploited into adult industries - being targeted at a young age and groomed to think a certain way.The evils of the world all impede on our sense of freedom and being forced to do things against our will. If pain is brought upon us, or we have to do things that violate us and harm us emotionally, we wont want to do it. Some people want to get into the adult industry, and I think it's normal that people will in their private lives get into that aspect and explore it to some degree - but those subjects are better left private. In Tricking, it's inevitable that people will form relationships, but it's different if there is a commercial and financial motive to establish relationships in that particular industry.Not everyone has bad intentions, but some people in society want to cause harm, and find various ways to do it, and the people in particular could be vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way. The laws we have in society are meant to keep people in harmony, and to cooperate and trust each other, so that we can do business and build families, and communities. Society is great, and we're fortunate to have what is otherwise clean, orderly and truthful - which is exactly why it's difficult when people or anti-social groups threaten it. We become protectors and truth keepers, and we fight off people who come into our lives who brings lies, and want to cause harm and take our things - they are the villains, and we fight against them. Society has to be fruitful enough to provide for everyone, but people also have to be honourable enough to respect others and not do things that are unfair. In Tricking we need positive rolemodels and we need anti-corrupt government to raise education and keep the sport clean. We correct people when they are off - we help heal people who are injured, and we maintain truth. That is what being a positive contributing member of society is all about. People don't always like it when you fight for what is right, and push against them. People don't always enjoy being challenged, and when you do battle someone, they may retaliate and attempt to seek revenge in ways that they might want to hide, for fear of being discovered that they don't fight fair. In life I guess we choose who we want to be, for me thats why I keep track of my history. I am proud to live in the light of day. I think I'm on the right track.

If I could go back and help my younger self, what advice would I give? At the time of writing this ( April 6th 2026 ) I'd be 34 years old, and have already completed my career as a Tricker, focusing on the preservation of history and encouraging positive development to the sport. When I was a kid, I had no idea about life - I purely trusted my parents, and everyone around me, really. As a teenager ( when I found tricking ) I think I started to test boundaries, and became rebellious to some degree. It was about fitting in, I think, working on insecurities, and pursuing my interests. As a young adult, I had to take on the responsibility of paying my bills, and gaining independence. As a 34 year old, I'd like to think I'm a middle level of adult to some degree. I think it's unfair to be an adult at 18 and be held to the same standard as a 34 year old, considering I'm an adult technically at both stages, but my experiences and education are worlds apart. Biologically, I think we technically finish developing around age 25. Maybe the word "adult" should be applicable to people who are beyond 25? Anyways, let me get onto the point I'm trying to make with Tricking. Prevention is the best medicine. As I got older, I began to learn life lessons that are not taught in school - as I had to reflect on the rationale as to why I make decisions, the values that guide me, I've learned that in some cases there are short cuts, there are easy options, or there are more respectable ways of trying to achieve a goal. It would be cheap to fight an easy opponent, but somehow claim to be the world champion - all while knowing there are true tough opponents out there. Wouldn't a World Championships mean so much more if the two best proven Trickers meet in the finale and perform their best with one coming out the winner? It's so much more definitive. We live in a world though, where not every contest is necessarily going to be setup properly, and we do live in a world where people could create bias, limiting who could even compete. If you aren't willing to fit in with others, you could possibly lose out on a black market sponsorship. The industry is run at this time by large collectives, who essentially want to maintain control over people & the sport, and to control the narrative and public perception. This is what makes being a truth-seeker so dangerous. Journalists have been killed for reporting on facts in some parts of the world, bringing the public the truth about what's happening in conflicts. When people are willing to hide, or if they feel as though they're losing power or control, desperation could lead others to commit wrongful acts. Tricking is a very competitive sport, and people who love to be loved and want to fit in could be willing to adopt whatever views their rolemodels impress upon them.. but Tricking needs a neutrality to it. Administrators of a contest need to ensure neutrality, and coaches need to protect the rules, no matter how much they want their athletes to win, it can't come at the cost of good sportsmanship. ( I forgot to write the .. "hey my name is david milner" part .. darn ! well .. it's late but, here it is ! I write about ways we could fix the Tricking Industry !  )Professional coaches aren't just people who are good at tricking and that they're willing to take your money to let you hang out and learn from them. A professional coach has a blanket legal obligation and responsibility for a few reasons:1) Professional coaches are business owners - which means they are regulated by the same laws as all business owners in any country2) Coaches deal with vulnerable individuals, including children & those who could be impaired in some way We live in a world where some people do not care if they are fighting an easy battle .. like the old saying goes "taking candy from a baby". Some people would find the most vulnerable person, and commit an act to harm that person, or exploit that person, because they happen to be an easy target. I'm not condoning this type of behaviour, but I recognize that it's an animal instinct we all have - we can all perceive vulnerabilities in others, and some people may be driven to act.This is why there are rights and protections in developed countries such as Canada. The rights of vulnerable or minority groups are recognized, and it's understood why a group of people might team up on just 1 person - Canada is a place where we try to make sure that people play fair in society, which is why all peoples are recognized and all groups are protected. There are some concepts that a younger did not know about though - personally, I never thought in terms of "grooming" or "human trafficking" as a teenager or even young adult. I had to undertake an education on this particular aspect of life and see the bigger picture, about how groups of people work together to get a system going, which could involve raising children to be redirected to the sex industry or to be deceived and exploited by trusted persons. Tricking is a sport afterall, and people have different outside influences that they may want to bring into the sport and affect trickers with, but the reality is, coaches need to recognize when people, even other trickers, are here to promote a non-tricking related purpose, especially financially motivated ones, and do the appropriate thing which is to address and properly manage it. My personal belief is that parents should be 100% completely aware of what their children are doing under the care of a community leader or tricking coach. If there are influencers or individuals that intend to re-direct athletes into secretive groups and to perform secretive activities, these are all very concerning red flags that there needs to be a course and education to prove that coaches are trained to recognize and defend against because in an unregulated sport such as ours, people & groups with these intentions can and have made their way and it's the responsibility of everyone who cares about Tricking to make sure that parents and community is aware of what is going on. We do live in a world where there are some concrete laws, and others are still in a grey area and/or are under constant reform, and Tricking itself is in a grey area, but that doesn't mean it should be exploited. Part of feeling like a winner is choosing the harder option and being big enough to take on a tough challenge, rather than taking the easy way, & lying about it. It takes a lot of courage to go in the right direction sometimes, and it can be cowardly to simply join a crowd.I think that the primary focus of the educators in the sport should be to understand their full responsibilities as coaches, and to fight to protect the rules. I think in the long term, it will only do good to represent a community & prevent harm. 

With "celebrity" comes Influence & where a sport is developing, with vulnerabilities present there are people who act in good faith but others .. not so much. When it comes to power and authority, the ability to direct comes with it responsibility, now more than ever considering the sport has opened up to a greater demographic, including children 10 and younger.Business owners, influencers, sponsors, or anyone with leadership qualities has a duty to ensure that guiding others within the context of a sport is done in good faith and complies with the rules of society. However, there are individuals that see Tricking and who hold criminal intent - if it's evading responsibilities related to their business and position, or if it's intentionally leading children into a life of crime along with them, we benefit from the rules of society, which means we need to protect the rules of society. Within the context of Tricking, this means that the sport is not a sandbox opportunity for exploitation but instead a chance to develop positive qualities & make positive impacts that contribute towards the greater good and help advance the sport in the right direction. Without education and awareness of such topics, and being that many Trickers are young, it's easy to make mistakes, but despite the fact that everyone makes mistakes the greatest measure of a person is their ability to accept the error in their ways and to change who they are - I'm writing to advocate for internal self reflection, self awareness & the development of internal strength to make the necessary changes to see that athletes not create or participate in crime groups. Yo my name is David Milner and I fight crime in Tricking. Today I'm writing about the stuff we don't really (but should) learn in school as related to business management, but also just social dynamic. Human Trafficking is a serious offence. If I could summarize it easily, it's about deceiving people into making choices & exploiting the outcome of those actions, typically for a financial/labour/sexual gain. Making informed decisions is where consent is legitimized, which means that by being dishonest about who you are, your intentions & encouraging people to do things that they might otherwise not do, people's sense of trust & emotional development can be harmed and this becomes highly aggravated when it involves children. In Tricking there are a lot of businesses that intend to establish themselves and to form teams, and essentially sponsor athletes. These business owners may have connections into the industry, and might be seeking talent & potential that they could essentially place their mark on, and generate profit from. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this, especially if your business is accurately registered, and that the sponsorship program is one that is legitimately established. The problem is that there are people that might take shortcuts, or worse, there could be the intentions of seeing the Tricking community as a place where athletes develop trust and are later directed off-site to intentionally concealed locations where they might participate in activities that might not be appropriate. 

Some organizations are recruitment heavy. If we have schools and academies that are legally registered & have employees that function as coaches and an owner who intends to expand, there is nothing wrong with appealing to the next generation and introducing them to healthy mechanisms for controlling their competitive energy & developing good sportsmanship in battles - but not every group functions this way, and I'd like to encourage awareness and signs to look out for to prevent from entering into a different kind of organization that does all the same things - but the illegal way.Hi my name is David Milner and I protest & do activism to help encourage positive growth & development for the sport of Tricking ! I know what it was like getting into the sport as a youth and finding a group to train with. I think back then I only evaluated athletes based on skill level .. it wasn't until years later that I started to see people for their values and direction. What are their politics? Also, anyone can claim to be anything, and if we are good people, we would only make a claim to be true, and when we hear others' claims, we believe them ! But not everyone makes claims in good faith - some people straight up lie, and others might make claims that are partially true, but could be exaggerated or distorted. I started to become more objective as I got older - using math to judge athletes, being a witness or using video evidence to have a more concrete baseline, journaling and keeping track of development - staying grounded to reality. Eventually I gained more perspective, and it took years to understand a great section of our industry and see where things were heading. I saw how some organizations and groups in Tricking were fighting for power over the industry. Competition can bring out the best or the worst in us. Tricking has a story and for every side there are people who win and lose and there are a lot of emotions and rewards and consequences. There are also people who are inspirational or people who hold different belief systems than us and we allocate our emotions and want to compete against and go on the offensive or be on the defensive depending on whats happening around us. At the end of the day, regardless of how extreme our sport is, sports must be administered in a neutral way. Event organizers, Leagues, Governing Bodies, etc, all need to create an environment that doesn't provide an inherent advantage to one particular group - but we're all human beings. Being impartial is very difficult, so we have to train our sense of impartiality. There needs to be a group of individuals that don't gain or lose depending on which side of a conflict takes the W. In our industry there has to be governance and leadership that focus on maintaining values and structure and provide the landscape for conflict to take place, but also fight off the part of being human that wants to possibly corrupt the situation. That's my current aspiration - I'm focused on moving forward and I'm trying to see things with neutrality. For the younger generation, the biggest issue is "joining a side". I'm not on anyone's side anymore, I don't think, other than the side where people play by the rules vs the side where people intend or objectively do cheat. It doesn't really matter what country or what brand you align with - as long as you don't cheat, you're pretty much cool. I grew up admiring many athletes from other countries thanks to the internet, and growing up in Toronto made me highly diverse and not caring about people's culture and identity as a dividing factor but more as a form of fusion. Even though I am ethnically hungarian / english-french, born in canada, personality wise I'm just as cultured as pretty much anyone else in Canada, which has a lot - the internet is it's own culture too. I think a lot of Trickers will have a mix of different ethnic cultural influences, and religion is a different story - that's so personal that it shouldn't really be a factor in sports. Sure, people are entitled to their belief system, but coming into the sport, it's not our place to bring that with us, you know? Keeping that part of your life for you, you shouldn't be treated any particular way, unless it's a religious holiday. I guess being inclusive, respecting differences, accommodating needs, but fundamentally, it's the sport and executing it in battle is the primary reason most of us go to competitions. Other groups have ulterior motives though. Event organizers should conduct a thorough background check on individuals that claim to be in the sport for any given purpose. Also, if there is any word of inappropriate activities taking place by individuals that lead campaigns to facilitate activities that are adult themed, those are legally not allowed to be in the same environment where children are being brought up. In any sports community where children, especially ones who are very young, as young as 10 or even lower, any groups or businesses that intend to direct followers to adult themed activities, or consume substances that have an age requirement are not permitted to promote or be in the vicinity. There are (2) universally recognized criminal offences called "Counselling" and "Grooming", both of which have to do with a power differential of adults who encourage children to commit criminal offences or adults that prepare children to. As adults & as educators, if you're a coach working with youth, you would be preparing athletes for a career in Tricking, not for a career in the adult entertainment industry. People will inevitably intend to become who they want to, if it's something they are open or secretive about, but there can't be a direct pathway from our sport. I understand because I think like every other guy (lol) and so my encouragement would be to separate the industries. If you're interested in women, it would be better to check out the modelling industry. In general, I do not condone or recommend drug usage, but athletes that do these things should do so off-property and out of sight. If you want to participate at "underground competitions" in Tricking, legitimate organizational bodies will likely discontinue your career with them, as unsanctioned competitions are typically prohibited. Criminal activities typically take place in locations that are secretive, and where anything goes. Some people seek these environments and intend to invite naive youth into them, using marketing and other word-play to trick anyone, even kids, into getting involved in scenarios that could one day harm their chances of making a professional career. Unsuspecting athletes that are encouraged to engage in illegal activities means that if people who know or have evidence want to, they could use damaging materials to try to blackmail, extort or threaten to control you. These are some of the methods that crime groups use to gain power and influence over talented athletes, and the worst part is instead of being honourable, they trick kids into that life before children even know what they got into - because of the lies and manipulations groomers and counsellors use. Legitimate business owners should be aware that these groups exist, and may even be scouting your athletes that you train to represent your brand / country. They could use social media to try to win over your students and pull them into their community, and use slogans like "culture" to evoke a sense of dedication and loyalty to the sport and further dragging them in by using stories of past conflicts and encouraging them to fight for either side of some internal conflict that they're apart of and perpetuating. There are a lot of stories that have taken place in sports, and we all want to advocate for our favourites and boo our enemies (lol), but that's something that fans of the sport will do - not the athletes, and not business owners. There needs to be a respectful and professional distance between athletes, organizers, judges and fans, and local or amateur leagues act as pipelines that help start the careers of some athletes, who might then go on to play for another team or country, which is their choice. What there can't be are links to non-Tricking related activities, especially pipelines that could corrupt the situation. Family-friendly contests.
